First time two nations India and Sri Lanka hosting T20 World Cup jointly.
India’s Venues
With its huge cricket infrastructure, India host the majority of matches. Indian venues are:
- Ahmedabad – Narendra Modi Stadium
- Mumbai – Wankhede Stadium
- Delhi – Arun Jaitley Stadium
- Kolkata – Eden Gardens
- Chennai – Chepauk Stadium
Sri Lanka’s Venues
Sri Lanka has only three venues for T20 World Cup are:
- Colombo – R. Premadasa Stadium
- Kandy – Pallekele Stadium
- Colombo –SSC Cricket Ground
Tournament Format for T20 World Cup 2026
The format of T20 World Cup 2026 is same as in 2024 edition, total 20 qualifying teams will be divided in to four groups of 5teams each. In group stage each team will play with other four teams of group, it means in group stage each team play four matches. Top two teams from each group will qualify for Super 8. In Super 8 teams will be divided in to two groups of four team each, every team in Super 8 will play three match. Top two teams from each group will qualify for semifinal and then winner of each semifinal will meet for final on 8 March 2026.
